Important Places : Baithalangso, Donkamokam, Hamren etc: The West Karbi Anglong district is a new district formed out of the existing Karbi Anglong District of Assam in 2016. Hamren is the headquarter of the newly formed district.The district is a part of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Diphu and it is administered according to the Sixth Scheduled of the Indian Constitution. Karbi language is widely spoken in the district. English, Assamese and Hindi are the other languages that are spo-ken in the district. The district is inhibited by many tribes, Karbi being the majority, along with Tiwa, Garo. Bodo and other tribes and communities. Hamren is the district head quarter of West Karbi Anglong district. in the Indian state of Assam. The town is situated on a hill. The town is surrounded by green hills, Breeze blow the town throughout the year. Kapili river passes through it. To-wards its southern border, there are the hills of Meghalaya and the lake of Borapani. Some important places to visit in Hamren are Boithalangso, Amtreng, Dongka, Khanduli, Tika hills etc. The district head quarter Hamren is connected by road. Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Transport buses ply at regular interval from the district headquarter to important places like Guwahati, Diphu, Lanka, Hojai etc. The nearest railway station is at Hojai, which is around 47 km from Hamren.
